Two Victims Named in the Providence Campus Shooting as Authorities Persist in Manhunt for Perpetrator.

Both young individuals who lost their lives in the recent tragic incident at Brown University had tributes paid to them on Monday – while an intensive search for their killer continued following the freeing by local law enforcement of the sole person detained in connection in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The student Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was described as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a ceremony on Sunday.

Her role included the vice-presidency of Brown’s chapter of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also posted words of sorrow publicly, remarking: “Words cannot express. Remembering her loved ones and companions, especially her parents.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the renowned school, family members said.

His name was confirmed by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He harbored grand aspirations of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.

Details of the Attack

Nine more persons were wounded in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Law enforcement reported late Sunday that a man aged 24 arrested in a police operation at a lodging about 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.

“A perpetrator remains free,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you need to change course and head another way, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last 24 hours or so.”

Public Fear

The gunman began shooting inside a room in the engineering facility on Saturday, shooting over four dozen bullets from a 9mm handgun, a law enforcement official told the news agency.
