Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in LA recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
