Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments in 2025 due to the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.

She had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally after a long gap in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by American player Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
