The Gunners' boss remains confident that his side can continue to cope with fitness issues after revealing that forward Kai Havertz remains out for the coming weeks.

Extended Absence for Havertz

Havertz has been absent since August after undergoing knee surgery. Initially expected to be available at the start of this month, the manager stated the player encountered a problem when increasing his training and could not progress “to the next level.”

“We learned, and we were able to put together a group that is much more reliable and has increased versatility,” commented Arteta.

Tactical Decisions for Brentford Clash

This news creates a selection headache for the midweek match against Brentford. Arteta must choose between continuing to use Mikel Merino, who scored as a makeshift striker last weekend, or recalling Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return from a muscle injury off the bench. Long-term absentee Gabriel Jesus remains available following a lengthy absence.

Fitness Doubts Linger
