Acceptance of Resignation

The nation's top law enforcement official, Pam Bondi, announced her stepping down on Monday. She commented that the appeals court finding made it unworkable for Habba to perform her duties.

"Do not interpret following the order as giving up," she wrote. "My fight will now stretch across the country."

Habba's exit was triggered by a federal appellate panel determined that she had been unlawfully serving as the federal prosecutor. This judgment is could influence many legal proceedings in New Jersey.
